Add animated GIFs to your web page

  1. Go to The Animation Factory (http://www.animfactory.com/). It has a lot of free animated GIFs.
  2. Pick a category on the left and click on the link. You will then see an animated gif.
  3. Pick a subcategory, if necessary, on the left, and click on the link or click on a description of the other gifs until you find one you like.
  4. When you find an image you like, right-click on it.
  5. In Netscape, select "Save Image As..." from the menu that appears.
  6. In Internet Explorer, select "Save Picture As..." from the menu that appears.
  7. Remember where you save the image and what its name is! I recommend saving to a 3.5" disk, if you are at Delta.
  8. Go back to Netterm and CTRL-X to exit your web page, if necessary.
  9. Type rz and press Enter.
  10. The Select File(s) To Send dialog box will appear.
  11. Find the file name of the animated GIF you saved and click the Open button.
  12. It will then be uploaded to Alpha. Do not close Netterm!
  13. Wait for the $ to reappear, then type pico images.html and press Enter.
  14. Add the <IMG SRC> tag with the animated GIF filename somewhere between and : and save.
  15. Return to Netscape.
  16. Reload your web page.
  17. Do you see your animated gif? Is it animated?
  18. Try another one, on your own.
