Your username and password

At Delta College, you need an "alpha account to access your e-mail and personal webpages-composed of:

  1. Your username identifies who you are. Delta is in the process of changing the conventions for username. Users who already have a username will continue to use the old convention: the initial of your first name, your middle initial if you have one, and up to the first six characters of your last name. New users will use the new convention: first name followed by your last name.
  2. Your password ensures that you are really you - that is, it helps protect the security of you, your data, and your system. Delta's convention for passwords is that they are 6 to 32 characters and follow some rules that are stated at the time you request. Your password should not be something that someone could "guess" - but it needs to be something you can easily remember.

Do not right your password down where others can view it.

Once you have a username, others on the Internet can send mail to you.

Your mailing address is: username@delta.edu

Also, you can create a webpage on Delta's system and give them names, such as:
http://student.delta.edu/username/mypage.html

To SIGNUP for e-mail and Webpages:

Start Internet Explorer or Netscape browser

From the Internet Explorer or Netscape, you will access a webpage that will lead you through the signup procedure. At the end of this procedure, you will be assigned a username and you will choose your password.

    1. In the box next to "Address" or "Location" key the name of the webpage you need as shown:

    2. you will be presented with a screen that gives you some options - it looks like this:

Welcome to the Delta College Signup web page. On this page you will find links to create a new account or change passwords to current accounts. Please choose the account type you would like to create or modify from the following list:

Students:

Internet (E-mail, FTP, Personal Website)
Internet (Password Reset)
MyDelta (Online access to grades, registration and other student information).

Click on "Internet (E-amil, FTP, Personal Website)"

3.      You are presented with a long list of "Electronic Resources Access and Use Guidlines" read this and scroll to the bottom.

4.      Click on the underlined words:
I AGREE and will follow your Code of Responsible Computer Usage"

5.      You will now be presented with a screen that allows you to enter your personal data-it looks like this:

Fill in the boxes with the requested information.

6.      Click the [Verify] button.

7.      You continue to interact with the signup screens. You will be asked to enter and verify your password.

If You Forget Your Password:

o        Start at the beginning of the signup procedure-but in step #2, click on
I don't remember my current password
You will be led through the same procedure as if you were applying for the first time.

Note that your password will not be displayed-instead, inorder to protect your password, you will see a series of asterisks:********

To Change Your Password:
