Mathematics
Mathematics is about order and chaos, freedom to create and discipline to describe. Mathematics is art and science.
I like to show people that mathematics is not simply about numbers, sometimes not about numbers at all. Sometimes you are using images to imagine relationships that are very complicated to describe if you are only using numbers.
Two good illustrations of this are fractals and origami. Follow the links and explore these interesting examples. I am also posting some examples of mathematical models that demonstrate how we use mathematics to explain what we observe.
Some of the things I present here might inspire you ask questions and describe your world in a different way. Mathematics may not be what you expect.
