Jingle Dress Presentation

Nat amerIn 2001, at the Delta College English Fest, members of the Chippewa tribe visited Delta College to celebrate the acquisition of an authentic Jingle Dress, made by a local Native American woman. (See the story of the Jingle Dress, as written by Joelle Peters.) Note: the Jingle Dress was purchased by funds from Prof. Mary Beth Looby's 2001 Carlyon Endowed Chair Award, to be used by members of the Delta College Historical Players.

Members of the Bay City Chippewa Tribe, including former Delta College student, Richard Rodriguez, take part in a ceremony to present the Jingle Dress, worn by Chippewa Princess Joelle Peters, to Delta College. Joelle prepares to perform the dance, which illustrates the story of the Jingle Dress.
