Abstract:
This session will address:
- Pathways designed to accelerate students' progress from developmental mathematics to a college-level course as replacements for the traditional Pre-algebra/Beginning Algebra/Intermediate Algebra route.
- Courses that reflect the mathematics pathways described in the Michigan Transfer Agreement.
- Pathways leading to alternatives to College Algebra that are aligned to targeted programs of study.

Biographical:
Anna Cox has been an educator since 1988 and has been a full-time mathematics professor
at Kellogg Community College since 1995. Anna also taught in the Virgin Islands and
Brazil, where she encountered alternative approaches to teaching mathematics. She
assisted with the development of pathways at Kellogg Community College by redesigning
courses through investigating the needs of Kellogg Community College students. A
dedicated member of the mathematics community, Anna is currently President-Elect of
MichMATYC and plans to attend AMATYC in Denver. Anna loves to share and learn.
