Bay County Historical Museum

Located in the former 1910 National Guard Armory Building, and listed on the state and national historic registers, the museum offers several feature galleries as well as an extensive research library. Two permanent galleries, “Bay County…Trails Through Time” and “Bay City: Seaport to the World,” highlight Bay City’s history as a prosperous international port.

Not really a museum, but a destination that automobile enthusiasts should not miss. Vehicles are on display inside a historical building in downtown Bay City. All vehicles are available for sale, but it is also fun to “window shop.” Who knows, the hot rod you’ve always dreamed about could be on display right now! Bay City Motor Company’s inventory is continually changing as cars are continually finding new homes with their new owners, so visit often!

A fun adventure for the entire family. Begin your visit in the NASCAR Room—loaded with almost every model collectible toy car ever raced! The room gets its name because it houses a real NASCAR Monte Carlo driven by the late Jeffrey Dobson. Next visit the Tonka Room, the largest collection of Tonka Toys and Trucks in the World! Be sure not to miss the highlight of the museum—the motorized Fire Trucks! Containing over 80 fire trucks, this exhibit’s oldest truck is the 1914 International, believed to be the oldest motorized fire truck in the world. Also, make sure to see the New York Super-Pumper, the biggest fire truck ever built. Other exhibits in the museum include the Snap-On Tool Room, the Coca-Cola Room, the 9/11 Memorial, the Antique Alarm System, and more.
