You have to see one of Bay City’s crown jewels of architecture! Built in 1930, the historic State Theatre is one of Michigan’s finest examples of Art Deco design. The sister theatre to Detroit’s famous Fox Theatre, the State Theatre was designed by Howard Crane and modeled after an Aztec temple. Recently restored to its original glory, the State Theatre regularly features art films, feature films, film festivals, stage performances, and concerts.
