expectations
Expectations
- Email communication
- I answer your emails in the order they are received, usually within 24
hours. I will use your Delta College email address.
- Reading
- Read through the chapters assigned each week.
- Execute each line of code by typing it yourself, do not simply
"copy-and-paste" code. As time goes by you will learn when it is
appropriate to copy-and-paste.
- Recommended problems
- Try to do each exercise in the textbook and you may review the
available solutions in the exercise solutions manual.
- Office hours
- Office hours are open to students in all of my courses. Questions are
answered in the order they are asked.
- Come and see me in my office or make an appointment with me if you need
help getting started. There will be a sharp learning curve.
- Technology
- You can begin with an account at
RStudio Cloud.
- It will be helpful to have both an installation of
R and
RStudio, and an
account at RStudio Cloud.
- You will find it most convenient to download and install
R and
RStudio to
use on your personal computer, so that you do not need to rely on
an internet connection.
